Contemporary Art Gallery featuring local, regional and national emerging artists on Gallery Row (Broad St.) in Charleston, SC. The first Friday of every month is the opening of a new solo show that challenges the norm.
Karin Olah should be an adjective and verb. Her warmth, free spirit and sense of humor are as engaging as her artwork. Growing up in Central Pennsylvania, the craft of quiltmaking has tremdously influenced Olah’s creative process as she “paints” with fabric to reveal organic shapes and fluid flowing energy in her abstract art. The floral and unusual fruit series, also made with fabric, are maticulous and beautiful. Olah is the newest artist to join our growing family at SCOOP studios, although we have known and collected her art for years. This is a bitter sweet partnership, but we must all grow and if that means leaving, then at least we have a place to visit in Colorado and Olah will always have a place in Charleston.  Please join us on Saturday, July 30, 5-8 pm, say goodbye to Karin Olah as she prepares to journey to Colorado the next day and preview her solo show “Unwound and Bound” at 57 1/2 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401 Pictured: “Paromoiosis”, Fabric and Mixed Media on Canvas
